STARTUP EUROPE WEEK is is organized by the European Commission as part of the Startup Europe initiative with Startup Manufactory acting as London Co-organiser representing the London startup eco-system. The objective of STARTUP EUROPE WEEK is to showcase projects sponsored by Startup Europe and all other relevant local initiatives being developed across 28 countries and 350 regions to foster entrepreneurship locally.

From 1st to 5th February 2016, STARTUP EUROPE WEEK LONDON will showcase major startup ecosystem players, entrepreneurial initiatives by the UK government, interview investors, entrepreneurs, and some of the most relevant people supporting entrepreneurs in London, one of the major startup hubs in the world.

 

Day 1: GOVERNMENTAL SUPPORT – Panel Discussion on what governmental support is available in the UK for entrepreneurs, what initiatives have been put in place, and how the government has shaped the startup eco-system in the UK as a result.

Monday, 1st of February 2015, 7.30 – 9 pm GMT

Venue: The Institute of Directors, The Burton Room, 116 Pall Mall, London SW1Y 5ED.

Day 2: FINTECH FORUM – The focus of the panel is to discuss the booming FinTech industry in London, what support is available for FinTech startups and how the eco-system has shaped up over the past years as a result.

Day 3: FEMALE ENTREPRENEURSHIP – The focus of the panel is to shed light on female entrepreneurship in London and to do an assessment of the opportunities available especially for women looking to become entrepreneurs. On this occasion, each panellist will share their experiences to inspire the next generation of leading female entrepreneurs.

Wednesday, 3rd of February 2015, 7 – 10 pm GMT

Chair: Diane Perlman, Global CMO at MassChallenge

Day 4: INVESTOR PANEL – The focus of the panel is to shed light on the London investment landscape and also to explore opportunities for entrepreneurs to leverage the investor eco-system. Further, we will discuss how investors view governmental initiatives such as SEIS/EIS that have been put in place to boost investor engagement.

Thursday, 4th of February 2015, 7 – 10 pm GMT

Venue: WeWork Southbank, 22 Upper Ground, London SE1 9PD.

Day 5: SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP – The focus of the panel is to shed light on the social entrepreneurship landscape and also to explore opportunities for entrepreneurs and what kind of support is available in the local eco-system for social entrepreneurs. Further, we would be grateful if you could share your views and experience.

Friday, 5th of February 2015, 7 – 10 pm GMT

Venue:London Business School, Sussex Pl, London NW1 4SA.

Chair: Prof Jeff Skinner, Executive Director of the Deloitte Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at London Business School.
